Location: Country Club Plaza, Kansas City, MO – 4600 Wornall Rd. KCMO 64112

Target Comp Range: $75,000 – $95,000 plus quarterly bonus.

The Director of Food and Beverage is responsible for leading all front-of-house food and

beverage operations, including the hotel’s restaurant(s), and select bar(s). This role

ensures operational excellence, delivers exceptional guest experience, and drives strong

financial performance in alignment with Cascade Hotel’s service standards and the Tribute

Portfolio brand identity.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee the daily operations of all food and beverage outlets, ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality service.
  • Collaborate closely with culinary teams and other hotel departments to enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, service standards, and safety regulations.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty as assigned, resolving guest concerns and operational issues promptly and professionally.

Guest Experience

  • Deliver a consistent, elevated, and memorable dining experience across all outlets.
  • Foster a culture of service excellence through staff engagement, ongoing training, and responsiveness to guest feedback.
  • Oversee VIP dining experiences, special requests, and in-room dining service standards.
  • Proactively manage guest satisfaction and loyalty through attentive service and effective recovery practices.

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage budgets for all food and beverage outlets, maintaining labor and expense controls to achieve profitability targets.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, including sales performance, average check, cost of goods sold (COGS), and beverage inventory.
  • Implement strategic pricing and revenue-generating initiatives to maximize outlet performance.
  • Ensure accurate and transparent revenue tracking aligned with hotel financial objectives.

Team Development

  • Recruit, train, and mentor front-of-house food and beverage team members, fostering a culture of hospitality and accountability.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide continuous coaching and feedback.
  • Lead by example, promoting teamwork, professionalism, and a positive work environment.

Process Improvement

  • Establish and maintain comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all outlets.
  • Ensure alignment with brand and hotel service standards, including Tribute Portfolio requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections to uphold service quality and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to support promotional events and curated dining experiences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in food and beverage operations, ideally within a hotel or upscale dining environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards, guest relations, and operational best practices.
  • Demonstrated success in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for multiple outlets.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in POS systems (e.g., Toast) and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs., and to stand, walk, and reach for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
