Job Description

Perry Homes has been a Texas tradition for over 50 years. As one of the largest and most respected homebuilders in the state, we are known for our commitment to quality, integrity, and customer satisfaction. With a deep-rooted belief that our people drive our success, we’ve built a culture that values service, performance, and long-term relationships, both in our communities and inside our company.

As we continue to grow, so does our need for exceptional talent and that’s where you come in.

The Role

We’re looking for a proven leader to serve as our Director of Talent Acquisition, responsible for driving strategic hiring across all parts of our business from corporate services to field operations. This role will report to the Vice President of Talent, who oversees Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, and Talent Development.

You’ll lead and develop a team of recruiters and sourcers while setting the tone for what high performance looks like. You’ll be expected to build a talent function that moves with urgency, precision, and care, all while delivering exceptional service to both our candidates and our internal stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage the full Perry Homes recruiting team (Recruiters and Sourcers), ensuring alignment to business goals and performance expectations. You will have responsibility for 2 Lead Recruiters (as your direct reports), 9 Recruiters (who will report to the Lead Recruiters) and 2 Sourcers.
  • Own the full cycle recruiting process for a wide range of positions from sales and construction managers in the field to corporate office support functions.
  • Set clear goals, expectations, and development plans for your team, ensuring everyone has a path to grow and contribute at the highest level.
  • Build strong partnerships across the business to understand evolving talent needs and deliver tailored recruiting strategies.
  • Drive results with a sharp focus on time-to-fill, hiring manager satisfaction, and quality of hire.
  • Take on confidential and executive-level searches with discretion and professionalism.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, identifying ways to elevate the recruiting experience and team performance.
  • Regularly analyze and report on recruiting data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Champion the rollout of Workable (our new ATS) and help define best practices and recruiting workflows as we scale.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
  • 12+ years of recruiting experience, including full-cycle recruiting across corporate and field-based roles.
  • 5+ years of experience managing recruiters and/or sourcers, with a demonstrated focus on team growth and performance.
  • A deep understanding of talent acquisition strategy and operations, including sourcing, pipeline management, and candidate experience.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, coach, and hold people accountable.
  • A proactive, data-driven mindset—comfortable pulling reports and using metrics to make decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well across a range of personalities, business units, and leadership styles.
  • Comfort working in a high-growth environment with evolving needs and priorities.
  • Experience working in a hybrid environment and collaborating across on-site and remote stakeholders.
