Heavy Equipment Operator Job Description:

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating plant equipment and working with a team to ensure production goals are met in safe manner. The Heavy Equipment Operator must be able to demonstrate proficiency in operating equipment, maintaining accurate pre-operation records of equipment to include: checks of emergency steering, emergency brakes, lights and other safety checks. Demonstrate safe working practices, be proactive on safety issues and adhere to all company policies and procedures. The Heavy Equipment Operator may operate equipment including, but not limited to: loader, dozer, haul truck, water truck and excavator.

Essential Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Safely and properly maneuvering throughout the mine site
• Hauling and unloading material to the correct mine site
• Maintain a basic knowledge of mine and safety rules and regulations
• Maintain a basic knowledge of mechanical systems of all equipment
• Perform and document evaluations of mechanical systems of all equipment
• Perform pre-operation checks on al equipment
• Must be able to work well with others and adapt to a changing environment
• Must be willing to rotate to assigned equipment as necessary
• Must be able to maintain accurate records of equipment condition
• Some shift work may be required
