Job Description and Duties

Provides general clerical support performing a high degree of independence, initiative and originality in the performance of duites. Ability to work in a very busy office. Must have the ability to handle with tact and courtesy,  variety of facility and public contacts inperson and over the phone. Speak and wrie effectively, understand and carry out oral and written directions with minimum explanation and supervision.

Effective July 1, 2025, State employees are subject to a salary reduction of three (3) percent in exchange for five (5) hours per month of the Personal Leave.

Working Conditions

TYPICAL WORKING C ONDITIONS: Ongoing interaction with clients, PDC personnel,and the public. Potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens and other conditions common to a clinical nursing environment. Position requires prolonged sitting and extensive use of telephone and computer equipment. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must possess and maintain sufficient strength, ability, endurance, and sensory ability to perform the duties contained in this duty statement.
The position requires prolonged sitting and extensive use of modern office equipment including telephones, computer and fax machine. 

Special Requirements

  • The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. Additional information regarding acceptable typing tests is available at the CalCareers.ca.gov website.
  • The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
  • The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
