Summary

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Performs the duties of Pharmacist as prescribed by state and federal statutes as well as SHS policies. Prepares and dispenses medication; assesses clinical status of patients (neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics). Provides drug information to the medical team. Educates patients.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

Samaritan Pharmacy Services is a community pharmacy located in a multidisciplinary ambulatory clinic in Corvallis. The pharmacy is open to any member of the public. The primary role of this pharmacy is to dispense community patient prescriptions. They also offer immunizations, medication management services, and specialty medications. The pharmacy is staffed by experienced pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who are dedicated to patient care.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

Current unencumbered Oregon Pharmacist Licensure required. Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred. All job offers are contingent upon the candidate passing a pre-employment/post offer drug screen. GSR Retail Pharmacy - Sam Dr: Healthcare Provider Level BLS required within three (3) months of hire. Successful completion of Pharmacist Immunization Certification required within one (1) year of hire. GSRMC Specialty Pharmacist (if applicable): Pharmacy experience in the specialty disease states preferred.

Possess good judgment and decision making skills. Specialty Pharmacist (if applicable): Ability to read, understand, translate and enter prescription orders into the pharmacy management system. Knowledge of rules and regulations affecting specialty pharmacy. Stays current on rules and regulations. Knowledge and training in the specialty disease states. Maintains competence in the area of coverage through continued education.
