Insight Contracting - Plumber

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour; Negotiable if Certified

Description:
Insight Contracting is looking for an experienced plumber to join our commercial and residential remodeling and maintenance teams. This position will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, maintaining, repairing, and installing plumbing fixtures.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the residential and commercial construction industry and the ability to provide some of their own tools. The candidate should also be familiar with construction industry safety standards to ensure project security and be able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and clean supply and drainage plumbing in residential and commercial projects for occupied and vacant units.
• Install and repair faucets and fixtures, water heaters, and disposals.
• Inspect and diagnose plumbing issues, including repairing small- and large-scale leaks.
• Comfortably work in tight or confined spaces such as closets, attics, and crawl spaces.
• Inspect, maintain, and/or replace plumbing to comply with Missouri, Boone County, and City of Columbia plumbing code.
• Train fellow team members in relevant plumbing skills.
• Learn or expand knowledge of mechanics, HVAC systems, drywall, etc.
• During Winter, be available for Snow Duty (shovel/plow/blow snow, spread ice melt, etc.).
• Maintain a clean and organized inventory in company storage and provided vehicles.
• Troubleshoot work orders with tenants over the phone and in-person.
• Provide on-call services to tenants as defined by our Emergency Maintenance Standards.
• Perform work during the process of unit turns within a deadline set by management.
• Assist supervisor with ordering maintenance supplies while staying within budget.
• Depending on the nature of the work performed, you may be provided with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the task assigned.
• Keep accurate time and detailed records of work performed at each location through the use of a service-tracking application installed on a mobile device.
• Work with other technicians to develop a comprehensive maintenance team that can provide top-notch service while minimizing callbacks.
• Communicate effectively with management, tenants, and other technicians.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A valid driver’s license and corporate-insurable driving record
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Master’s License in Boone County and the City of Columbia
• 2+ years’ of plumbing experience in a residential, commercial, or industrial setting
• This position will require the following on a daily basis:
• Grasp, lift, maneuver, rotate, and otherwise use small to large trades tools and equipment
• Grasp, lift, carry, and set down heavy objects (50-80 lbs.)
• Grasp, turn, twist, pull, push, lift, and otherwise move equipment, controls, parts, etc.
• Visually assess maintenance, construction, and repair needs
