Job Description

In partnership with our doctor Clinical Directors, our Assistant Practice Manager is a business leader, responsible for providing support and leadership as needed for $3 – 5 Million multi-specialty dental practices. Our Assistant Practice Manager delivers the Espire mission to team members and patients by living joyfully, leading bravely, and creating greatness. Our Assistant Practice Managers are responsible for all Operational aspects of our clinics from the heart of the practice to the front office and reception, leading the daily operations so that the Clinical Director and team can focus on patient care and clinical outcome.

Our Traveling Assistant Practice Manager will assist, work front office duties, support offices where needed (Initially North/West Denver Practices such as Lakewood and Thornton), while continuing to lead an individual practice and adhering to the responsibilities of a Practice Manager in their assigned location as identified by the Regional Directors of Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Acting Practice Manager in locations as identified by the Regional Directors of Operations.
  • Adhere to all responsibilities outlined in the “Practice Manager” job description for assigned location.
  • Train front office team members on effective reporting, data analysis, and corrective action to impact overall production and profitability of individual practices.
  • Lead teams in developing world class systems and processes that focus on practice growth through the acquisition and retention of patients.
  • Train front office team members on strategies to optimize schedules and maximize doctor productivity.
  • Train the team member that places orders to appropriately monitor and manage facility and supply costs.
  • Partner with the People Operations team to onboard new team members utilizing created content.
  • Continuously model the Espire Culture for other Practice Managers and provide guidance to those Practice Managers that may need additional training and support.
  • Travel between two offices

Education/License Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with a business concentration or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Experience Requirements:

  • 4+ years of leadership and management experience of an operational and/or sales team, required.
  • Healthcare industry, operations &/or practice management experience, especially experience working with doctors/healthcare providers, strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing in a matrixed organization or multi-entity, multi-state environment, strongly preferred
  • Expertise in operations management, strategies and methodologies, strategic planning and execution, and employee motivation techniques.
  • Must live in Colorado

  • Able to split time between two offices

Physical Requirements:

Level 1: A combination of sitting, standing, and walking with little requirement for physical effort. There may be a requirement to exert light physical effort for short periods.

Travel Requirements:

76% - 100% travel required.

  • Associates degree with 5+ years of relevant experience OR a Bachelor degree with 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Prior leadership OR supervisory experience in the dental industry
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of dental practice operations and management
  • Familiarity or experience with dental practice management systems preferably Dentrix
  • Understanding of managerial and financial reporting and financial principles (i.e., practice management reports, production reports, financial statements) is a plus
  • Willingness to build trust to achieve results
