Are you a sucker for saying yes?

Saying yes when you mean no.

Are you a sucker for saying yes?

You know when in your mind you are saying ‘no, no, no’ and you actually say ‘yes’ and then you kick yourself for committing to something that you aren’t going to put 100% into.

Why do we do this?

Why is it so important to please everyone to the point where you feel stressed, resentful and burnt out as a result?

FEAR!

Fear of rejection

Fear of disappointing others

Fear of what people will think

Fear that people aren’t going to like you

It’s a heavy burden to carry because the urge to say yes comes from a lack of self confidence and self worth.

Remember it’s better to say no now rather than feel resentful later.

Don’t say ‘I’ll think about it’ if you want to say no, it will stress you out even more.

Remember what you do for other people is not a reflection of your self worth.

You will never feel truly happy if you depend on other peoples’ approval. Do you value yourself and your opinion? When you depend on other peoples’ opinion you are effectively saying ‘their opinion of me is more important than the opinion I have of myself.’

Remember you are unique, valuable and no one else can offer what you have.

Learning to say no will be one of the most valuable things you will ever do. It will help challenge your fear of rejection and help you feel in control, empowered and free!

Live your life for YOU not anyone else.
