How to Practice Self Care - Mindset by Pinky

How to Practice Self Care

Apologies about my radio silence. I am feeling refreshed restored and rebalanced after well, quite a few weeks of recharging my batteries and reflecting. No phones, no social media and no vlogging or bloging for that matter. Time to breathe and think. I needed it!

Recent unnecessary evil events around the world left me feeling shocked and heartbroken. Pausing and reflecting on what I want to do in this world to make a difference was much needed. With that in mind I know self care is underrated.

What is self care?

“Any set of practices that makes you feel nourished, whether that’s physically, emotionally, spiritually, all of the above.” Melissa A Fabello of Everyday Feminism.

Self care is different for everyone. It could mean reading a book or playing a musical instrument or exercise, yoga or meditation etc

I love September, as the long summer holidays draw to a close, the kids are back to school, it’s a fresh start. It’s my favourite time of year to get clear on what I want and how I can help you to create your killer mindset.
Part of this is knowing how to take care of yourself. After all, who will if you don’t?

Here are 3 things you can do daily to practise self care.

Embrace solitude

Appreciate YOU! Yes- without feeling guilty or selfish. Be grateful for your body when you take a walk in the park or practice yoga. Eat your favourite snack and enjoy it. And before you go to bed tonight I want you to create a sentence that other people are grateful for about YOU.

Find your passion

Remind yourself that your strengths lie within YOU. Your strengths are multidimensional; there are countless ways to view, appreciate and boost them.

Think of your strengths as your three E’s: they are essential  the strength is essential to your personality, energising you feel a boost of joy or energy while using the strength, and easy the strength comes naturally to you to use, you don’t have to think about it. You have the power to make your passion and your purpose a reality.

Ask yourself ‘What is my purpose? Why am I doing what I do?’

Rest and relax

Imagine actually getting 8 hours of sleep zzzz
Sleeping around 8 hours a night will help you lose unwanted weight, feel energised, reduce your stress level, look younger, live longer, and be easier to be around! Sounds so simple doesn’t it? Well it is.

And breathe to relax- To reduce your stress levels instantly, take 2-5 deep breaths, this will cause an immediate relaxation response. It’s that simple. Do it NOW!

Anyone can apply these simple hacks to any situation and increase your self care. A little self care everyday turns into habit with no effort which turns into amazing results.
